Vacation

This past week we were on our annual trip to Silver Creek RV Resort in Silver Lake Mi. Here we meet our good friends Ken & Nancy from Illinois and spend the time together.

Toasting to friendship and a great week.
When we got together last June to do the factory tour of where our trailer was made, we did a tour of one they were looking at. They surprised us by showing up with a new trailer. We are so happy for them.

The week is never really planned, but there are somethings we tend to do each year. We like to go to one of the local wineries to purchase some wine, which usually means a drive thru Pentwater, a small touristy town not far from where we are camping. Or drive up to Ludington to see what's new there. This year we went for a tour thru a dairy farm to see its production of milk and cheese from start to finish.

Of coarse there is just relaxing, swimming in the pool, biking or playing with one of our latest toys. One of my toys is a quad copter, still learning how to control it.

Thanks for stopping by, until the next time , take care.

Catching

Since my last post we bought a peddle boat to use at "The Ridge" on the pond, it works well and should be a lot of fun.
Clemson & I trying it out
July the 24th took us back up to Durham for Pat's sisters weekend and Guys weekend. While Pat headed off to one of the sister's place in Chatsworth, where they we all staying, I got the trailer set up at "the Ridge". The three other brother -in- laws were at "The Acreage" .  I started working on a Dock for the pond and our peddle boat. It was a relaxing weekend, doing what we want, when we want. It was a good time.

Needs Something, let me think about it.

We headed home Sunday morning as our good friend from Vancouver was coming to visit us for the evening as he was in the area on business. When he arrived we went out for supper and then back to our place to show off our new trailer, he was quite impressed and understands our full time decision. Our visit was to short but always great to see each other when we can and we cherish our time with him.

The next weekend, being the August long weekend, brought us back up to Durham for the family reunion.  Not as many here this year but that's the way it goes sometimes, everybody has busy lives and can't always be there every year.
Relaxing
Back home on Monday as I had to work and Pat is on holidays. It will be a short week and we will be off for a week together down at Silver Lake MI. with our friends Ken and Nancy.
While that's it for this post, thanks for stopping by. Until the next time, take care.

Summer is Here

Where to start?  Every summer brings something new and some of the things we enjoy doing every year.
As stated in the past blogs, we have a new Trailer and Truck. I plan on putting a picture of the two together on blog heading to replace the one of the old Truck and trailer, just need to take the right picture in the right spot. On June 28th to June 30th we headed down to Howe In. to tour the plant where our trailer was made. We met our friends Ken & Nancy and toured  our plant and then one of a trailer they hope to buy. It was a short trip but we had a good time together. Here are a few pics. of the trip.

To start off, July 1st, we had our annual dinner with my family, meaning my parents and sisters and  their husbands. Being they all live in Stratford it was nice they could all come in one vehicle. After an afternoon of socializing and showing off our new trailer we sat down to a tasty meal prepared by my wife, Pat.

Of course we are still working, but during the months of July and August we work a compressed work week. Monday to Thursday are nine hour days which gives us a 1/2 day Friday, we then use a 1/2 day vacation to take the other half off giving us a three day weekend.

New truck & trailer @ " The Ridge "

Starting July 24th we will be away with our new trailer doing the things we enjoy. This will be Pat's sister weekend, when she and her sisters spend time being sisters. I on the other hand, meet up with some of the brother -in- laws at The Acreage and do what ever. The next weekend being the Civic Holiday, we head back up to " The Ridge " and " The Acreage " ( the two pieces of property owned by Donna & Gerry, about 3 Kms. apart)  for a family reunion/get together on Pat's side, always a good time.  With our new trailer, it is to tight to get into " The Acreage " so we go to " The Ridge ". After that, we are home for a week before we head to Silver Creek RV Resort in Silver Lake MI. and meet our friends from Antioch Ill. for a  week of fun. Then, who knows what the rest of August will bring before the Labour Day weekend when we spend time with my cousins at Inverhuron, On.

Today being July 5th, we are invited to the CanAm RV annual BBQ at the owners home. Sounds like a good time. Hold the presses , I mean hold the blog. Here are a few shots of the BBQ, it was a great time.
these five shots beg the question, who was having more fun.

WHAT ARE WE UP TO TODAY?
August 14th,2014

We were up and after saying our goodbyes to Ken and Nancy on the road by 9 am. We had a good drive down to Grand Rapids where we made another quick stop at Camping World. On or way again with an easy drive all the way to the border. It was about3:20 pm. when we came across the bridge at Port Huron/Sarnia and cleared customs at 4:00 pm. We had planed on stopping in Petrolia to see our sister-in-law, Mary Beth. It was a nice but short visit to catch up with each other. She is finally getting her garage built and the footings were being poured when we were there.

On our way again, we were home by 7 pm and it didn't take long to get backed in and unload what we had to for the night.

It was a great week away, but after a long day we were soon ready for bed. This pretty well sums up our Silver Lake adventure and we are looking forward to next years time down there.
Until the next time, thanks for stopping by and take care.
