May 24 Weekend

 

Here we are at Rock Glen, our home park. It is the first time out with our new trailer. Arrived here on Friday  by 2 pm. and got set up. Being it is the maiden voyage, we want to try everything out over the weekend and get any kinks/bugs found so they can be fixed before the summer. Our good friends George and Suzie were here, so we had "Happy Hour " together and got caught up with each others lives since last fall.

Saturday we were up early and on our way to Goderich by 6 a.m. It was very foggy in spots along the way.

 We arrived at my dad's just after 7 a.m. to set up for the lawn/garage sale. They are down sizing and moving to Stratford at the end of the month. The crowds started right at 7:30 looking for bargains.

 By noon it was all done, with most of the stuff gone and a little over eight hundred dollars made. Everything cleaned up, ate some lunch and back to the trailer by 3:30 p.m. Took in a snooze had a lite supper and went and spent time with friends at their camp fire. In bed by 10:30p.m. for a good nights sleep.

Up early Sunday morning with a coffee in hand, checked out the e-mails and browsed the web. We went for the free pancake breakfast up at the hall and then wandered back to our site. Today was a lazy relaxing day. Read, walked, snoozed and basically did nothing. The skies cleared and the sun came out just after 3 p.m.  BBQ'd a nice rib steak for supper with baked potato, fried mushrooms and onion and a glass of red wine.

 We went for a walk and then settled in for a relaxing evening. One of the things we wanted to try out, is the dish washer, yes this trailer has a dish washer. After a couple of false starts, it is doing the job and is it ever quiet.

Monday was a hot day and we were on our way home by one in the afternoon.

That was our first time out and all went well. This post has been a long time coming but finally got it out.

Fall Weekend

WHAT ARE WE UP TO TODAY?

This past weekend we spent at Rock Glen Family Campground. It had been a long and busy week so we were looking forward to a very relaxing time here. Our good friends, George and Suzie were here so we found a site next to them and got set up.

Here we are all set up on site # 10, this is the first time on this site. Beautiful blue skies that dominated the weekend. After supper we walked over to see George and Suzie to catch up with each others lives. George got out their propane camp fire and we sat and chatted for a while. Around 9 p.m. we called it a night and we headed back to our trailer. Soon to bed and fast asleep. Couldn't believe I was in bed that early and slept through until 7 a.m., must have really needed the rest.

Saturday morning brought another beautiful day, we walked about the camp ground to see what was going on. We sat enjoyed the time relaxing. Around 3:30 p.m. we headed over to George and Suzie's for "Happy Hour", where we were introduced to two other RVer Couples. In the pictures below, you will see George and Suzie, Ron and Lori, Rob and Pat and of coarse us.

After an hour or so we headed home for supper. A little walk after and another night of early to bed and a great nights sleep.

Sunday brought more clear blue skies and warm temps. We stayed while into the afternoon not in any rush to get home. By 3 P.M. we were saying our goodbyes to George and Suzie as this is the last time we will see them until the spring. They will soon be heading south for the winter.  

 

This was one of the best relaxing weekends of the summer and our camping for this year is soon coming to an end, we will be out for Thanksgiving weekend for one last time. Then winterize the trailer for the winter.

Rock Glen Weekend

WHAT ARE WE UP TO TODAY?

August 24th,2014

The weekend started Thursday night for Pat and our friend Brenda as I had to work on Friday. So after I had the trailer set up, I left the girls to enjoy the night and Friday before I returned.

Saturday brought another beautiful day but unfortunately Brenda had to leave us.

Saturday night there was a dance at the outdoor pavilion. Fellow bloggers and great friends George and Susie and Pat and I went and enjoyed a night of great music and a little dancing.

It was a great warm and starry night, spent with friends and good music. Sunday morning brought a few clouds and closing down our weekend camping. So after saying our goodbyes to George and Susie, we headed for home to get ready for work tomorrow.

Our 2014 Summer Travels

FIRST TIME

WHAT ARE WE UP TO

Here we are at Rock Glen Family Resort, our home park. This is the first time we have camped here since we bought our membership  in late May. We have a nice site on the edge of the square at lot #83. It is on a bit of a slant, so to level the trailer the front end is almost touching the ground.

This morning our good fellow blogger spent a couple of hours with me, showing me how to get creative doing blogs, thanks again George,  lets see how much I can remember.

After lunch and a quick power nap, Pat talked me into going for a swim in the pool. The water was refreshing, a little cool getting in  but felt great once there. After an hour of dipping and basking in the water and sun we headed back to our site.

Happy hour plus some minutes started at 3:30 pm. George and Suzie came over and brought along another couple, Richard and Marylou. Great to meet another couple and chat about our lives and adventures. Before you knew it, it was time to start supper. So as our friend George says, time to fire up the Weber Q. Steak, spuds and corn was on the menu tonight.

After supper and the dishes done, we went for a walk to check out another trailer like ours( a Jayco  Designer) that Pat had spotted earlier on a walk. This one is a 38 ft, Designer with 4 slides. It belongs to Chris and Bob from Brantford. Chris took us inside and showed us the layout. Very nice, it had a wall with glass sliding doors between the kitchen and living room area. We thanked them for the tour and headed home. Not long after we got back to our site, Bob came by and asked us to join them around their camp fire, so off we went for a nice evening getting to know them and what they do. Like us they are not retired yet but like to travel. The rain started a little after 10 pm so we headed back to our site for the night.
