Spill My Stuff

Where Are We Today
In my last post, I talked about our " Blue Boy" ( which from now on I'll call our honey wagon, because ours is really grey, not blue) and how I was making it easier to dump without spillage.

RV Waste Pump

I also ordered a macerator or RV Waste Pump from Camping World, which arrived promptly by UPS. After following the instructions for wiring, I went to attach it to the trailer dump connection ( this a four pin twist on devise) all four clips on the RV Waste Pump snapped off.

Getting it wired

The air got blue for a few seconds and that was the end of that. The next morning I sent an email along with pictures to Customer Service at Camping World stating what I had done and asking for advice as to getting it replaced. Within a couple of hours, I received an email from them apologizing for any inconvenience, and stating they were sending another email with a prepaid UPS shipping label. When it is picked up by UPS and the tracking number shows it is transit, they will send out a replacement within 2-3 business days. My return was picked up Friday morning on the 19th of January, so I am hoping that on Monday, I will have notice that the new one is on its way.

All four clips snapped off
On Saturday we attended the Quartzsite RV show, a must when you are here,  the thousands of people who make up the jostling, elbow knocking, people standing in your way crowd and organized chaos that goes along with any event like this, man you got to be in your glory.

Old generator

Last year when we went to the show, yes we came back for a second time, we found items that we would like to have for our RV, one being a new generator. The one we have is a Champion 3500 watt construction generator, you know, the noisy one. After looking at several over the past year, that would fit the criteria that we set for our needs, we planned and saved to purchase a new one this year. The Champion 3400 inverter generator is what we bought.
New generator/inverter
The gentlemen at the Champion booth, said they would get it ready for us by taking it out of the box, putting in the oil and a little gas to make sure it ran. When we were ready to pick it up, we just had to drive the truck along the outside of the fence and they would lift it over to us and right into the back of the truck.

Bringing it over to the fence

While that was being done, we walked back into the big tent to browse some more. We bought one more item for the trailer, that being a new outside light. Our friends Pat and Rob, showed us theirs last year and we thought it was a good idea. The light acts as a outside light or motion sensor light. When you first turn it on it acts as the motion sensor light, turn the switch off and back on it acts as an outside light.

New light

Today I installed that light on the trailer. It works well and gives off a good bright light.
Removing the old

Applying sealant around the new one

All done
There you have it, and as Ken and Shirley said, I was to get on the ball and do a post to satisfy their curiosity.
When the new macerator comes in and I have it up and running, I will let you all know.
We had a bit of excitement  for the second time in the last two weeks, as police, sheriff, fire rescue and ambulance raced to the back of LaPosa South LTVA, don't know what happened, but they left without flashing lights.

Ambulance on its way out, no flashing lights

Thanks for following along, welcome and read all comments, until the next time take care and be safe.

London RV Show

WHERE ARE WE TODAY
London,On.

This past Family Day weekend was the London RV Show held at the Fairgrounds. Starting on Friday Feb. 12th and running thru until Monday Feb. 15th, 2016. As we are still working stiffs, we were not there on Friday, but we did put our time in for the rest of the weekend.
As I have said before, we are not sales people for CanAm RV, but customers who volunteer our time to help out at these shows, and are referred to as CanAm Friends. We are under no obligation as to the number of hours that we help out, but you will find us there from beginning to end each day. We talk to people about our own camping experiences and our future plans on full time Rving. If we can, we will answer questions on trailers or find the sales people who can. We do enjoy our time doing this as we meet people who really want to know about full timing and also meet people who are doing it or have done it.
So if you have any thoughts on starting the camping adventure, visit CanAm RV and  ``Let the Adventure Begin``, Check out Can Am RV  HERE .
The weekend of Feb. 25th to 28th we will be at the next show at the International Centre in Toronto, if you are in the area, stop in and say hi.
The rest of this post will pictures of the London show.

Toronto RV Show

Better Late Then Never

Well here I go again, late with a post. That seems to be a theme right now. I have written about this RV Show before, so that's maybe why I wasn't in a hurry. RV shows are RV shows, the same thing really, just a different location, different people and trailers. That being said, we still see some of the same people from one time to the next. They are still looking for that perfect trailer or they are there for something to do.  They usually remember that we are going full time next year and ask if we are still going to, the answer is YES!!! We enjoy our time here, meeting people who are interested in RVing. Talking to them about what they do,  would like to do, what kind of trailer they are looking for and about what we do.

We did have a great time meeting new people and talking to a few we have met before. We really enjoy talking about full timing and can't wait to start next year.
The other side of this , is the time we have with the staff of Can Am RV. Not only at the show but also the social time afterwards. Dinner on the Saturday night is always a great time, great company and food. A time to unwind from the day and relax. For the staff of CanAm RV, this is work, try and get leads and sell trailers, make those deals.  For us, we get to show up and tell our story and listen to others and at the end of the weekend leave for home.

Good Times

Great Conversation

Good Food

There is still a lot of work to be done that we don't have to do. Taking down the display and packing everything to come back to the dealership. We aren't sales people so no pressure. Having said that, there is nothing like the feeling when one of the sale people will say to a customer, " here is Pat and Bill, they're customers and own a DRV", we can then answer questions they might have about a certain trailer. what do we pull ours with and so on. That conversation may and has helped a couple to buy.
The next show will be in February and we get to do it all over again.

The last couple of weeks we have been getting ready for winter, cleaning up around the yard and winterizing the trailer. While doing this, I discovered some damage done to the roof of the trailer by tree branches. Not sure where or when, though we have an idea. Just waiting for the insurance adjuster to give the go ahead and have CanAm fix it, probably in early December. Until that is done, I won't get the vehicles arranged in the driveway for winter the way I do. During this process we think of what is coming and it saddens us. We just have to remember this will be the last winter here we hope for a long time  and look forward to what is coming. The selling of our house, retirement and full timing.Well for being late and not thinking I would have much to say, this has become a story.

Thanks for stopping by for a read. Until the next time, take care. To all our full time friends on the road heading south, take care, drive safe and enjoy.

WHAT ARE WE UP TO TODAY?

This past weekend although we did not go camping, it was all about camping and the RV lifestyle. We spent Saturday and Sunday at the Toronto RV Show at the International Centre. As customers of Can Am RV, www.CanAmrv.ca, we volunteer to spend the time at their display and talk to people about our and their experiences of Rving. We especially like to be with the 5th wheel section, as this is what we have. We also answer what questions we can and if we can't, then direct them to someone who can. We also get to answer some of our own questions and see what is new in the RV world. We thoroughly enjoy our selves at these shows and as Pat says I like to talk, so I fit right in.

Saturday evening we went out to dinner to Jolly's, an Italian restaurant on Weston Rd, excellent food. It was a good time, all us of talking about the day's event and  Rving in general.

On Sunday, we met Malcolm and Sharon, who plan to go full time in two years like we are. By the way, if either of you are reading this, send us your e-mail address. It was great talking to you and look forward to it again.   We were home by six, being excused from helping do the dismantling of the display. All in all, a great weekend, looking forward to the next show.
Getting out of Toronto
Thanks for stopping by, till the next time, take care.
