We left CanAm
RV at 7:45 a.m. this morning and crossed the border at Sarnia/Port Huron just
before 9:00 a.m. We headed east and then south on I-69 arriving here around
2:45. When we went to open the bedroom slide, it would only go out about 6
inches and then stop. After trying what ever I could think of, I have left it
in and we will have to deal with it in the morning.
There is a service center at DRV Mobilesuites
where it was made, 2 hours north of us, so they will be called first thing in
the morning to see what the chances are of getting in there to get it fixed. If the
wait is to long, a call will be made to CanAm, letting them we are on the way
back to them to get it fixed.
That’s all
I’m going to say about it for now. Read Pat’s posts to keep informed.
Thanks for
checking in, until the next time.
Sorry to hear of the troubles. I hope it’s a quick easy fix and you folks are trouble free for the rest of your winters adventure. Good luck.

Thanks Deb, we hope so too.

ReplyDeleteOh no! Hopefully tomorrow will have better news and you'll be down the road!!
ReplyDeleteI have a bad feeling that we'll be returning to CanAm to get it resolved.
DeleteOh the joys of RVing eh Bill. We know how you feel. Hope it's a simple fix and you can get on your way. Say hello to the Southwest for us:))
ReplyDeleteThanks Al, we have a couple of places near Elkhart that we are going to call first thing in the morning.
DeleteWe will definitely say hello to the southwest for you.
We are just so sorry to hear that. I know you are heartsick. I hope DRV makes it right for you so you don't have to return to London. Stay safe. Love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Thanks, have a couple of RV repair places to call tomorrow morning near Elkhart also.
DeleteWe had trouble with a slide that wouldn't go out. The teck stated that it got out sync/time. He show me there was a reset/reboot on the control panel which was in the storage bay. There was a place where you would push like a paper clip into the panel for it to reset. It has worked ever since. Just an FYI
ReplyDeleteThanks, there is no reset/reboot for this. This is a cable adjustment issue that was fixed last week. Will try to get in a repair shop tomorrow.
DeleteHoping it's a quick fix so you don't have to go all the way back to London.
ReplyDeleteBeen having trouble with Google.
Be Safe and Enjoy your travels.
It's about time.
Thanks Rick, have a couple of places near Elkhart we are going to try in the morning.
DeleteI have been a blurker of yours and Pat’s for a long time but have never commented. We had a DRV in 2006-2010. Just read of your troubles. Try Indiana Interstate Enterprises 1690 E 025 N La Grange 260 453 8100. (South of the DRV plant) Paul Cross, the owner, used to work at DRV and does service for them as well as privately. He was our “go to” guy. He is a good guy, knows the product and hopefully can help you. Andy at Can Am may already know of him. I hope it works out for you.+
ReplyDeleteThank you Brenda, I will call them first thing.
Delete260-463-8100 sorry…fat fingers!
ReplyDeleteGot it.
DeleteGood Luck! Hope you are able to get it taken care of and be on your way quickly.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys, will keep you updated.
DeleteBrenda S ‘s suggestion is certainly worthy of a try- experienced with your rv model plus on your way. Sure. Disappointing but may well be an opportunity to meet a specialist- all the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
