After two weeks of CanAm
camping, we finally made it to " The Ridge " where we call home for
the time we spend in Canada. Many thanks to the great people at CanAm RV for
tucking us in for the past two weeks.

As this was the last leg of
our journey home, it is time for my last road rating for our travels. The main
roads travelled on Friday were Hwy's 401, 19, 86, 6 & 4. All put together,
I am giving them an average of 8 out of 10.

As I did last year , here
are some statistics of mileage and fuel
for our winter. Since we left last Oct. 24, 2017, we have travelled 16663.7
km./10354.3 mi., used 3620.1 liters/956.3 gal. of diesel fuel with an average
of21.7 l/100km/ 10.8 mpg. We travelled farther this winter than last winter
with a .3 mpg better fuel avg.

It was a wonderful winter we all had, now you will soon be able to get to the "top" of the ridge and enjoy your summer.
ReplyDeleteYes it was a wonderful winter and with the strong sun over the next few days, I am hoping to be at the top of the Ridge on Wednesday, fingers and toes crossed.
DeleteAccording to your numbers you did a lot more driving this year than last. Bet you can hardly wait to get things set up for the summer. Just a few more days and you'll be exchanging the snow shovel for the broom.
ReplyDeleteYes more driving than last year, but certainly worth it. With the sun shining the way it is, I hope by Wednesday we are sitting in our spot at the top of the Ridge.

Thanks guys, I sure things will settle down for you and you will be able to run some numbers. We are hoping that your trailer gets fixed sooner than later and it is back on your site before you know it.
DeleteBill, you used a little more diesel fuel than our trawler "Diesel Duck" could hold. Our tank capacity was 3000 litre and when we filled up in Venezuela it cost us $36.00! Yep, for US$12.00 you could buy two 24 packs of "Polar" beer (excellent beer) or, you could purchase 1000 litre diesel fuel. What would you buy? ha, ha.
ReplyDeleteAs a point of interest: we paid for 1 litre diesel fuel in French Guyana 1.80 Euro.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could fill up here for $36.00. I'm not a beer drinker, but I know a few that would love to buy two 24 packs for that price.
DeleteWe have to remember though, we are better off then most of those countries, wouldn't you say.
That's pretty good fuel mileage for such a big rig! Good driving skills!!

DeleteYes can be scary when you look at the costs, but still a good thing to do.
You might want to double check the mile/km thingy. We ended up doing 10k miles or 16k km. Milage was similiar but we got better milage when we in the northern states, 10.3mpg vs. 10.8mpg. I can't explain the variance, maybe better quality diesel in the northern states. Brian
ReplyDeleteAll the numbers came from the dash read out of the trucks computer and I find the numbers to be accurate, even the fuel consumption. I have heard that the quality of the fuel can vary from state to state, but doubt it would be a significant amount.
DeleteI do need to mention that the gallon number is U.S. gallons. That is equal to 796.3 Canadian gallons. 1 Can. gallon = 1.20095 U.S. gallon.
