My Version of Today

We Have Landed

Since are arrival at 'The Ridge" last Friday, we have been watching and waiting for  the snow to melt enough for us to move the suite up to the top of " The Ridge ".

Monday afternoon showed enough snow had melted to make the move. I decided that the move would happen early Tuesday morning, as the driveway was mushy in places, in the morning, the ground is firmer after a cool night.

Up at 6:30 this morning, after a coffee and some blogs reads, we made the "Suite " ready for that final move. After disconnecting the  satellite cables, moving the generator and the " Broken Wing Weber " out of the way, I hooked up " Black Beauty "  and made the final pull up the lane to the top of the hill, and here we sit by 8:00 a.m.

The light comes on as soon as you step inside.

The rest of the day was setting up, putting away, cleaning up and generally getting things back to normal for the summer. We accomplished quite a bit, but have lots to do and some projects to take on. With rain forecast for tomorrow, we will take a break for the day.

The Last Leg Home

Where Are We Today

Home

After two weeks of CanAm camping, we finally made it to " The Ridge " where we call home for the time we spend in Canada. Many thanks to the great people at CanAm RV for tucking us in for the past two weeks.

As this was the last leg of our journey home, it is time for my last road rating for our travels. The main roads travelled on Friday were Hwy's 401, 19, 86, 6 & 4. All put together, I am giving them an average of 8 out of 10.

As I did last year , here are some statistics of mileage and  fuel for our winter. Since we left last Oct. 24, 2017, we have travelled 16663.7 km./10354.3 mi., used 3620.1 liters/956.3 gal. of diesel fuel with an average of21.7 l/100km/ 10.8 mpg. We travelled farther this winter than last winter with a .3 mpg better fuel avg.

Our 6th Leg Home

Where Are We Today

Back In Canada

Today finds us back in our home country of Canada. The 6th leg of our trek home has taken us from Wapakoneta Ohio to Toledo Ohio to London Ontario, where we are set up at CanAm RV, (our RV dealer).

We left Wapakoneta Ohio, heading north on I-75, which I will rate at a 9 out of 10. Exiting onto U.S.-532 to Luckey Road to the KOA campground, in Perrysburg Ohio, just outside of Toledo. Both of these roads are two lane and have seen lots of use. Although they were uneven and patched, there were no potholes. I am giving them a 7 out of ten.

Leaving there this morning, we travel U.S. 163, a two lane road, I will rate at a 8 out of 10. Onto U.S. 420 to Bypass I-280 to I-75, which I will rate at 9 out of ten, while in Ohio. Once we crossed into Michigan, I-75 became rough, I am going to rate this section of I-75 at a 7 out of ten.

That brings us into Canada, and onto the 401 and finally Hwy 4. (Colonel Talbot Rd.) The 401 starts out very smooth, but as we traveled towards London, it definitely has it rough sections, so my rating for this is a 8 out of ten.

The short drive on Hwy 4 is smooth, so gets a 9 out of 10.

That brings us home to Canada, but not quite to our summer place at "The Ridge". I will include that in a rap up post of mileage, fuel and costs of our winter travels.
